According to Statistics Estonia, on 1 January 2024, the population of Estonia was 1,374,687. There were 10,949 births and 16,002 deaths in Estonia in 2023.

Märt Umbleja, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, pointed out that the last time the dwelling price index fell compared with the previous quarter was in the third quarter of 2023. “Compared with the second quarter of 2024, the prices of apartments decreased by 1% in areas bordering Tallinn and in Tartu and Pärnu cities, and by 7.7% in the rest of Estonia. In Tallinn, apartment prices continued to rise, increasing by 0.9% from the previous quarter,” Umbleja noted. Our aim is to make data submission and communication with Statistics Estonia as convenient as possible – that is why we are transitioning to a new self-service environmen

In the new environment you can submit data, manage questionnaires and communicate with Statistics Estonia. 

The new self-service environment is still under development and only some of the questionnaires have been updated so far. All enterprise questionnaires will be updated during 2026.

What kind of survey is it? The SHARE (Survey on Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe) international survey collects data on the health, employment, and retirement of people over the age of 50. Who commissions the survey? Until 2023, SHARE was coordinated by the Munich Center for the Economics of Aging (MEA) at the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy in Germany. eSTAT is replaced by a new self-service environment Starting from 12 June, data can be submitted to Statistics Estonia in the new self-service environment at uuringud.stat.ee . To make data submission as easy and convenient as possible, all questionnaires will be updated in the new environment. Currently, only some of the questionnaires have been updated, however, the goal is to update all enterprise questionnaires by the end of 2026.
