The share of innovative enterprises in Estonia is growing
According to Statistics Estonia, 65% of Estonian enterprises have introduced product or process innovations. The share of innovative enterprises is the highest in financial and insurance activities and in information and communication.
Consumer price index up by 3.7% in May year on year
According to Statistics Estonia, in May, the consumer price index increased by 0.4% compared with April and by 3.7% compared with May 2025. Goods were 3.1% and services 4.6% more expensive than in May last year.
Manufacturing output down for the third month in a row
According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2026, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 3.8% at constant prices compared with April last year. Among the three industrial sectors, output increased by 14.3% in mining but decreased by 14.9% in energy production and by 3.2% in manufacturing.
Exports of services grew by 4% in the first quarter
According to Statistics Estonia and Eesti Pank, in the first quarter of 2026, Estonia’s exports of services grew by 4% and imports were unchanged year on year. Exports of services amounted to nearly 3.3 billion euros and imports to about 2.5 billion euros at current prices.
Average wages and salaries were 2,135 euros in the first quarter
According to Statistics Estonia, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 2,135 euros in the first quarter of 2026, which is 6.2% higher than in the same quarter last year.
The economy grew for the fourth quarter in a row: GDP up by 2.4% in Q1
According to Statistics Estonia, in the first quarter of 2026, the gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 2.4% compared with the same period of 2025. The GDP at current prices was 10.2 billion euros in the first quarter.
