According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2023, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 12.5% at constant prices compared with the corresponding month of 2022. Output fell in two sectors: by 37.6% in electricity production and by 10.9% in manufacturing. In mining, output remained almost at the same level, as the decrease was just 0.3% year on year.

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in November 2018 was -0.5% compared to October 2018 and 3.4% compared to November of the previous year.
Domestic tourists outnumbered foreign tourists in accommodation establishments in November

According to Statistics Estonia, more than 222,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments in November 2023, which is 1% less than in November 2022 and 11% less than in October 2023. Year on year, accommodation establishments hosted fewer foreign as well as domestic tourists.
Exports of goods up by 17% and imports by 13% in March

Jane Leppmets, foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that both exports and imports of goods increased in March, as in the first two months of the year. “Exports of goods grew in all commodity sections. The rise in exports was influenced by an even larger increase in re-exports, which rose by 27% year on year. This was mainly due to an increase in the re-exports of transport equipment,” Leppmets noted. Today, on 9 December, at 15:00, the journal Akadeemia will present its latest issue at club Atlantis in Tartu. The launch of the issue, which is dedicated to the coming population census, will begin on the bank of the River Emajõgi where, just for one evening, the monument celebrating the birth of Tartu’s one hundred thousandth citizen will be turned into a monument to the seven billion people of the Earth.
