Producer price index affected the most by falling dairy prices

According to Statistics Estonia, in April, the producer price index of industrial output fell by 0.3% compared to March 2020 and by 4.4% compared to April 2019.

According to Statistics Estonia, in May, the consumer price index remained at the same level compared with April and increased by 11.3% compared with May 2022. Goods were 11.1% and services 11.5% more expensive than in May last year.

In the Population and Housing Census, which starts at the end of the year, among else, people will be able to give an assessment of their health. Health questions in the same wording were also included in the census ten years ago, which is why the results will provide an overview of Estonian people’s health and how it has changed in a decade.

Data from the 2021 census show that the share of people with higher education in Estonia is increasing and the share of people with basic education is decreasing. A fifth of the inhabitants in Estonia have a master's degree, and Tartu and Viimsi stand out for their particularly high concentration of highly educated people.

According to Statistics Estonia, the number of students in general education has decreased by nearly 20,000 during the past five years. While the number of students in the first grade will increase in the coming years, the number of students in secondary education will decrease.

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in June 2020 was 0.9% compared to May 2020 and –1% compared to June of the previous year. Compared to June 2019, goods were 0.8% and services 1.2% cheaper.
