According to Statistics Estonia, 131,700 foreign tourists and 77,800 domestic tourists used the services of accommodation establishments in November 2013. The total number of tourists increased 7% compared to November 2012.

Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, noted that the biggest decline at 4% was registered in the turnover volume of stores selling manufactured goods. In grocery stores, the volume of turnover was down by 3%. “However, the turnover volume of enterprises engaged in the retail sale of automotive fuel increased by 2% last year,” added Pihlak. Retail trade volume turned to growth again in the last month of the year. “The turnover of retail trade enterprises was €1 billion in December 2024, and compared with the same month in 2023, turnover volume was up by 1%,” Pihlak pointed out

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2014, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 966 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 6.02 euros. Compared to the 1st quarter of 2013, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased 7.3% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries increased 6.9%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2013, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 900 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 5.63 euros. Compared to the 1st quarter of the previous year, the average monthly gross wages and salaries grew 6.3% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries 9.1%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2015, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,045 euros. Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2014, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased by 6.9%, and compared to the 2nd quarter of 2015, the average monthly gross wages and salaries decreased by 3.4%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011) 657,791 dwellings were enumerated. Compared to the previous Census, the average area of the dwelling as well as the number of rooms per inhabitant have increased.

Lauri Veski, team lead of consumer price statistics at Statistics Estonia, said that the consumer price index for the summer months exceeded the 5% mark every month compared with the previous year, reaching 6.1% in August. According to Veski, the last time the year-on-year change in the consumer price index was higher was in July 2023, when it stood at 6.4%. “Compared with August last year, the rise in the consumer price index was primarily driven by food prices, which were up by 9.2%.
