According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2010 compared to May of the previous year, exports of goods grew by 39% and imports by 47% at current prices. In May the growth in exports and imports was the biggest of this year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2008 compared to November 2007, both exports and imports of goods decreased by one fifth at current prices. Imports of goods were last on such a low level at the beginning of 2006.

Today, on 11 October, Statistics Estonia presents “Success on the Labour Market” – an overview of the average gross monthly income of persons with vocational and higher education and their social status on the labour market.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2009, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 11,770 kroons and the hourly gross wages and salaries were 71.76 kroons. Compared to the 3rd quarter of the previous year, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 5.9% lower and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 5.8% lower. Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the turnover volume of retail trade enterprises was up by 1% in December year on year and grew even more in January. “The rise in retail trade volume in January was mainly due to stores selling manufactured goods, where turnover volume rose by 6% compared with January 2024,” explained Pihlak. According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2009 exports of goods from Estonia at current prices totalled 9.3 billion kroons and imports to Estonia amounted to 10.2 billion kroons. Machinery and equipment held the biggest share in exports and oil products in imports.
