According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in September 2019 was -0.2% compared to August 2019 and 2.2% compared to September of the previous year.
Statistics Estonia has announced a competition for engaging 25 personnel specialists who will conduct the recruitment of the Census employees this autumn and winter. For conducting the 2011 Population and Housing Census, over 2,400 Census employees must be recruited.
According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2018, the production of industrial enterprises increased by 2% compared to October 2017. Production increased in manufacturing and energy, but decreased in mining.
In September, Kaie Koskaru-Nelk, former Deputy Secretary General of Fiscal Policy of the Ministry of Finance, will assume office as Deputy Director General of Statistics Estonia. Koskaru-Nelk, who has worked in management positions in the public sector for over 20 years, will be responsible for strategic management of statistical analysis departments and international cooperation.
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2019, the construction price index increased by 1.9% compared to the average of 2018. In the 4th quarter of 2019, compared to the 3rd quarter, the construction price index changed by 0.5%, and compared to the 4th quarter of 2018, by 1.7%.
Foreign trade statistics cover exports and imports of goods and services between Estonia and partner countries. While international trade in goods is based on their physical movement across borders, trade in services focuses on transactions between residents and non-residents, regardless of their location.
Statistics Estonia’s data submission environment eSTAT now allows respondent enterprises to compare their wages, profit and turnover with indicators of the same economic activity and Estonian averages. eSTAT displays personalised statistics currently to nearly 20,000 enterprises.
Statistics Estonia has announced a competition for engaging 15 district heads of the Census districts for the 2011 Population and Housing Census, which will start at the end of the year. District centres in nine cities all over Estonia will commence work in August; the deadline of applying for the post is 5 June.
