The business and consumer surveys reflect economic confidence in four business sectors and among consumers. A confidence indicator* is calculated for each sector based on the survey responses. These indicators are used for economic forecasting and international comparisons, among other things. This was the seventh time that Statistics Estonia was commissioned by the Education and Youth Board to analyse the tax contribution of international students who work in Estonia during and after their studies. According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2024, the total production of industrial enterprises fell by 3% compared with June last year. Among the three industrial sectors, output increased by 4% in electricity production but decreased by 19.7% in mining and by 2.3% in manufacturing.
