According to Statistics Estonia, in December, the producer price index of industrial output fell by 0.9% compared to November and by 1.2% compared to December 2018.
Census data show that an estimated 76% of Estonia’s population speak a foreign language. While 10 years ago the most widely spoken foreign language in Estonia was Russian, today it is English. Estonian is spoken by 84% of the population: 67% speak it as a mother tongue and 17% as a foreign language.
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2012, the average monthly gross income per employee was 844 euros. Compared to 2011, the average monthly gross income has increased in all counties.
According to Statistics Estonia, in October, the producer price index of industrial output fell by 0.4% compared to September and by 1.7% compared to October 2018.
In August 2019, the producer price index of industrial output fell by 0.2% compared to July 2019 and by 1.3% compared to August 2018. The export and import price indices fell compared to both July 2019 and August 2018.
According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2019, the production of industrial enterprises increased by 5% compared to January 2018. Production increased in manufacturing and energy, but decreased in mining.
According to Statistics Estonia, in March, the producer price index of industrial output fell by 0.9% compared to February 2020 and by 3.5% compared to March 2019.
According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in March was –0.7% compared to February and 0.9% compared to March of the previous year. The last time that the year-on-year change of the consumer price index was below 0.9% was in October 2016, when it was 0.6%.
