Today, on 20 October the World Statistics Day is celebrated for the first time under the auspices of the United Nations. Statistics Estonia organises a conference “Estonian Statistics in Focus” for this occasion.
According to Statistics Estonia, 169,000 tourists used the services of accommodation establishments in January 2014. Compared to January of the previous year, the number of foreign tourists increased and the number of domestic tourists decreased.
According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2012 compared to October of the previous year, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 5% at constant prices. In September the retail sales increased 7% compared to the same month of the previous year, while in October the retail sales growth decelerated slightly.
According to the preliminary data of the 2011 Population and Housing Census, there are 1,294,236 permanent residents in Estonia. Compared to the previous census, the number of permanent residents in Estonia has decreased by 75,816 or 5.5%.
According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2012, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 7% at constant prices compared to June of the previous year.
According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2012, 205,000 tourists stayed in the accommodation establishments of Estonia, which was 5% more than in April last year.
According to Statistics Estonia, the freight volume (in tonne-kilometres) of Estonian transport enterprises increased by 8% in 2010 compared to the previous year, mainly due to the increase in the freight volume of sea and railway transport in international traffic.
According to Statistics Estonia, the percentage change of the consumer price index in March 2009 compared to February was -0.5% and compared to March 2008 was 2.0%.
