In the coming months, the population census continues with the collection and analysis of register data. The first dataset on population composition will be published at the beginning of June.
The average working week of men is three hours longer than that of women. A half of males employed and a third of females employed work overtime. This has been proved in Statistics Estonia’s publication “Time Use of the Population of Estonia” published today.
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2015, the total amount of commercial fish and crayfish sold by aquaculture enterprises was 795 tonnes, with a total value of 3.3 million euros. Compared to 2014, the amount of fish and crayfish production sold has decreased 8% and the monetary value of production – 3%.
In 2023, the number of outbound and domestic trips increased respectively by 40% and 20% compared with the year before. The main destinations of choice were Finland, Latvia, Italy and Turkey.
According to the revised data of Statistics Estonia, on 1 January 2021, the population of Estonia was 1,330,068, which is 1,179 persons more than the year before*. Last year, the population figure decreased by 2,602 persons due to negative natural increase but increased by 3,782 persons as a result of positive net migration.
What kind of survey is it? The Tourism Survey provides an overview of travelling of Estonian residents: the number of domestic and outbound overnights trips, purposes and duration of trips, travel arrangements, expenses and the most popular destinations. According to Statistics Estonia, in August, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 912 million euros. Compared with August 2022, turnover fell by 8% at constant prices.
