According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2016, the average gross hourly earnings of female employees were 20.9% lower than the average gross hourly earnings of male employees. The gender pay gap decreased by 1.3 percentage points compared to the previous year. The gender pay gap decreased by 1.3 percentage points for the third year in a row.

What kind of survey is it? The crop farming survey provides data about areas under cultivation and harvested areas of agricultural crops, production and yield, fertilisers, organic farming, liming, seed use, and autumn sowings of winter crops. A large part of the data are obtained from registers (for example, data on areas under cultivation are received from the Agricultural Registers and Information Board, and data on harvested areas and production are obtained from the electronic field book in e-ARIB), and the rest are collected from respondents with the survey. According to Statistics Estonia, in 2017, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,221 euros; compared to 2016, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased 6.5%. The annual average monthly gross wages and salaries increased in almost all economic activities. The average monthly gross wages and salaries were the highest in the 2nd and 4th quarters.

Today, on 17 March, the Government of the Republic approved the list of statistical actions for the years 2016–2020. In 2016, Statistics Estonia will organise 158 statistical actions, the cost of which is estimated at a total of 6.5 million euros.
