According to Statistics Estonia, one out of five part-time employees would like to work more hours and is ready to do that if there is such an opportunity. In 2011, there were more than 12,000 such underemployed part-time workers.
According to the data of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011) of Statistics Estonia, 67% of persons employed in Estonia worked in service sector, 29% in industrial sector and only 4% in primary sector.
According to preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2010 the total profit of business sector was 2.0 billion euros (30.9 billion kroons), being about two times bigger than in the previous year. At the same time the total profit decreased more than a fifth compared to 2008 and about 40% compared to the record high 2007.

According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2010 compared to April of the previous year the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises decreased 9% at constant prices. Since the beginning of year the decrease in retail sales has been relatively stable compared to the same month of the previous year.
According to Statistics Estonia, the unemployment rate was 8.0% in the 3rd quarter of 2013. The number of the long-term unemployed decreased remarkably.
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2019, compared to 2018, the exports of goods stayed at the same level and imports decreased by 1%. The substantial increase in trade in the first half of the year compensated for the decrease in the second half.
According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2014, the production of industrial enterprises rose 3% compared to August of the previous year. The production increased in manufacturing, while in mining and energy the production decreased.
According to the second estimates of Statistics Estonia, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia increased by 3.5% in the 3rd quarter of 2012 compared to the same quarter in the previous year.
