Agricultural Census starts on 1 September

According to Statistics Estonia, the Agricultural Census is conducted in Estonia from 1 September to 15 November, in the course of which the data on agricultural production will be collected from nearly 30,000 holdings. For the first time it is possible to participate in the census also via Internet.
Area
What kind of survey is it? The crop farming survey provides data about areas under cultivation and harvested areas of agricultural crops, production and yield, fertilisers, organic farming, liming, seed use, and autumn sowings of winter crops. A large part of the data are obtained from registers (for example, data on areas under cultivation received from the Agricultural Registers and Information Board and data on units that fill in the electronic field book in e-ARIB), and missing data are collected from respondents with the survey. According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2016, the Dwelling Price Index changed by 3.1% compared to the 1st quarter and by 1.8% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2015.
The growth in business sector is slowing down

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2011, the net sales, costs and total profit of the business sector increased compared to the previous quarter as well as to the same quarter of the previous year. At the same time the continually improving comparison basis turns the growth rate slower.
Kindergarten days of Estonian children are long

According to Statistics Estonia, a child from the age of three up to the school age stays in the kindergarten for approximately 40 hours a week, which is one of the highest indicators of the European Union. In the European Union the children of the same age group are in the kindergarten on an average for 28 hours a week.
