According to Statistics Estonia, in the second quarter of 2020, there were 8,088 vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. Compared to the second quarter of 2019, the number decreased by 28%. In the second quarter, 39,540 persons were hired and 50,184 persons left work. Every fourth person left on the employer’s initiative.

This in turn makes it possible to increase the social and economic importance of hunting in rural areas. Hunting statistics are compiled by the Environment Agency, which publishes the following data: game hunting by species and county; damage caused by game. Based on hunting statistics, it is possible to develop and monitor the field of hunting, assess progress towards national targets and conduct research.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the third quarter of 2020, the labour force participation rate was 71.8%, the employment rate was 66.3%, and the unemployment rate was 7.7%. There were 54,300 unemployed persons, which is 4,900 more than in the second quarter of the year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2020, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 643 million euros. Compared to September 2019, turnover increased by 6% at constant prices.
Telecommunications, computer and information services had the biggest trade surplus in the second quarter

According to Statistics Estonia and Eesti Pank, in the second quarter of 2024, Estonia’s exports and imports of services both grew by 3%. Exports of services totalled 3.1 billion euros and imports of services 2.3 billion euros at current prices. The balance of foreign trade in services was in surplus by 802 million euros, which is 39 million euros more than in the second quarter last year.
