According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2022, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 13% and imports by 22% compared with July 2021. Re-exports from Estonia grew by 43%; exports of domestic goods remained at the same level year on year.

Growth in wages and salaries stalled across Estonia

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2020, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,433 euros, which is 1% higher than last year. While in county comparison, both increase and decrease in wages could be observed, the year-on-year growth has not been as modest in ten years.
Exports and imports reached a record high in March

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2022, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 35% and imports by 31% compared to March 2021. Compared to the first quarter of last year, exports grew by 30% and imports by 34%. In March and in the first quarter as a whole, trade was primarily boosted by the increased exports and imports of mineral fuels and electricity.

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2022, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 14% and imports by 19% at current prices compared with September 2021. In the third quarter, exports were up by 16% and imports by 22%. Trade was mainly boosted by the increased exports and imports of mineral products as well as by rising prices in general.
Turnover and investments of the business sector increased

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2019, turnover increased in most economic activities. Trade, manufacturing and information and communication enterprises contributed the most to the turnover of the business sector. The growth in the sector’s turnover was negatively affected mainly by energy and mining.
Domestic tourism helped Estonian accommodation establishments

According to Statistics Estonia, in June, 121,000 domestic tourists and 42,000 foreign tourists stayed in Estonian accommodation establishments. Their total number of nights spent was 301,000. Compared to June 2019, the number of tourists dropped by 60%, but their number was higher than in the last few months.
