According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in December 2013 was –0.1% compared to November 2013 and 1.4% compared to December of the previous year.

Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that retail trade volume started to grow again in January this year and the growth continued in February. “The growth rate, however, was slightly slower in February than in January,” she added. In February, the increase in the volume of retail trade turnover was influenced by enterprises engaged in the retail sale of automotive fuel and by stores selling manufactured goods. According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index was 0.6% in February 2013 compared to January and 3.7% compared to February of the previous year.

Eveli Šokman, the producer price statistics service manager at Statistics Estonia, said that, year on year, the producer price index declined in December after three months of trending upwards. “Compared with December 2024, the index was affected the most by falling prices in the manufacture of fuel oils and in electricity and heat energy production. Higher prices in the manufacture of wood and wood products, peat production, and the manufacture of food products had the opposite effect on the index,” added Šokman. According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2013 compared to December 2012, the change of the consumer price index was 0.7% and compared to January of the previous year 3.4%.

Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that while turnover volume in June increased by 5% year on year, growth slowed down to 1% in July. “Year on year, turnover volume grew by 10% in enterprises engaged in the retail sale of automotive fuel and by 3% in stores selling manufactured goods. The turnover volume of grocery stores continued to decline in July, falling by 5% compared with July 2024,” Pihlak added. According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2015, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,082 euros. Compared to the 1st quarter, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased by 7.1%, and compared to the 2nd quarter of 2014, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased by 5.8%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2013, 192,000 foreign and domestic tourists stayed in accommodation establishments, which was 6% less than in the same month of the previous year. The number of domestic tourists increased and the number of foreign tourists decreased.

According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2014, both the exports and imports of goods decreased by 4% at current prices compared to February 2013. The decrease in exports and imports was mostly influenced by a fall in the trade of electrical equipment.
