Competition to find enumerators extended in three counties

Statistics Estonia has extended the application period for enumerator jobs until 28 November in Tallinn, Harju county, Tartu county and Ida-Viru county where there have not been enough applicants. Over 6,900 applications in total have been submitted to the competition.

In 2017, the social protection field was mostly characterised by growth trends: the average old-age pension exceeded 400 euros, labour market measures are being used more and there is a greater variety of them, the expenditure on family allowances increased and new allowances for large families were added. According to Statistics Estonia, the unemployment rate was 7.5% and the employment rate was 66.5% in the 3rd quarter of 2016. The labour force participation rate increased by 1 percentage point compared to the same quarter of the previous year and the number of inactive working-age people is on a downtrend.
