The trade deficit was 224 million euros, which is 63 million euros less than in May 2025. Jane Leppmets, foreign trade statistics analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that intra-EU exports of goods were up by 13% and intra-EU imports grew by 9%. “There was a decline in extra-EU trade with exports decreasing by 3% and imports by 16%. According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2014 compared to October of the previous year, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 6% at constant prices. In September the retail sales increased 5% compared to the same month of the previous year, while in October the retail sales growth accelerated a little.

According to Statistics Estonia and Eesti Pank, in the fourth quarter of 2022, Estonia’s exports of services grew by 12% and imports by 25% at current prices compared with the fourth quarter in 2021. Services were sold to non-residents for a total of 3 billion and purchased for 2.2 billion euros. The balance of foreign trade in services was therefore in surplus by 765 million euros in the fourth quarter, which is 125 million euros less than in the same period a year earlier. In 2022 as a whole, exports of services grew by 31% and imports by 19%.

The trade deficit in February was 426 million euros, which is 132 million euros more than in the same month of the previous year.
