According to Statistics Estonia, in 2019, a household member spent an average of 489 euros per month, which is 81 euros more than in 2016. The share of compulsory expenditure, i.e. unavoidable food and dwelling expenses in the household budget has decreased by 3% in three years.

According to Statistics Estonia, 34 full-length films were produced in Estonia in 2018, of which 22 were distributed in cinemas in the same year. Cinema attendance set a new record – 3.6 million visits, i.e. 275 visits per 100 inhabitants.
284,300 Estonian residents at risk of poverty in 2018

According to Statistics Estonia, 21.7% of the Estonian population lived at risk of poverty and 2.4% lived in absolute poverty in 2018. Compared to 2017, the share of people at risk of poverty decreased by 0.2 percentage points and the share of those living in absolute poverty by 0.3 percentage points.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2019, enterprises sold goods and services for 14.8 billion euros, which was 7% more than in the same period the year before.
Lowest unemployment rate of the century in the 3rd quarter

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter, the unemployment rate was 3.9%, the labour force participation rate was 71.9% and the employment rate was 69%. The estimated number of employed persons was 677,300, which is 10,700 more than in the same quarter of the previous year. The number of long-term unemployed also declined.
Elisa, Tele2 and Telia to analyse clients’ mobility themselves

In order to provide the crisis commission with a quick overview about whether people are complying with movement restrictions, Elisa, Tele2 and Telia decided to take it upon themselves to analyse the mobility of their clients. The data used for the analysis will be entirely anonymous and not real-time. Statistics Estonia will compile the analyses of the mobile network operators and produce an overview for the whole country. The first results are expected to be available in the coming week. The reason for the new decision is the obligation of the operators to protect personal data and ensure anonymity.

According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2019, turnover of retail trade enterprises amounted to 646 million euros. Compared to May of the previous year, turnover increased 2% at constant prices. In April, the turnover had increased 8% compared to the same month of the previous year, while in May the increase decelerated.
