According to Statistics Estonia, from today the customers of Statistics Estonia have an opportunity to explore the Estonian population statistics on Google Earth.
In 2010, part-time working was influenced both by employees’ gender and age of their children, the biggest share of part-time employees were among women with children aged up to 2 years. This has been proved in Statistics Estonia’s publication “Man’s home is the world, woman’s world is her home?”
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2010, 12% more tourists stayed in the accommodation establishments of Estonia. In the last month of the year, the number of tourists exceeded the December 2007 result, the best December month for accommodation establishments of the past decade, by 6%.
At 00:00 on Saturday, 31 December, the eleventh population and housing census will begin in Estonia. In January, residents can participate in the census online, by completing the census questionnaire at www.rel2011.ee.
According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2013, exports of goods decreased by 5% at current prices while imports remained at the same level compared to June of the previous year. Exports declined to three main partner countries.
According to Statistics Estonia, the unemployment rate was 8.0% in the 3rd quarter of 2013. The number of the long-term unemployed decreased remarkably.
According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2010 the production of industrial enterprises grew 23% compared to August of the previous year. This year the growth of production has mainly influenced by the increase in external demand, since domestic market has slightly livened up only during the last months.
According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2014, the production of industrial enterprises rose 3% compared to October of the previous year. The production increased in manufacturing, but decreased in mining and energy.
Statistics Estonia has begun preparations for conducting the register-based Population and Housing Census (REGREL) of 2020. Next year’s Census will be the last where the entire population is interviewed.
