From today until 22 January 2022, the e-questionnaire for the Population and Housing Census is open. Everyone living in Estonia is welcome to respond to the e-census. Only people who are included in the survey sample may expect a phone call or visit from a census taker if they have not filled in the e-questionnaire.

According to the preliminary data of the Agricultural Census conducted by Statistics Estonia, there are 11,400 agricultural holdings in Estonia, which is 3,800 fewer than ten years ago. 84% of the agricultural output is contributed by 1,300 largest producers who use more than two thirds of the utilised agricultural area and account for more than a half of agricultural labour.

The preliminary results of the mobility analyses prepared for the crisis commission show that the emergency situation has resulted in decreased mobility of people. For the mobility analysis, Statistics Estonia uses aggregate tables on the movement of mobile phone numbers prepared by Elisa, Tele2 and Telia. Real-time data of the clients of mobile operators were not used. It is not possible to analyse the movement patterns of individuals on the basis of the anonymous data. Statistics Estonia will publish more detailed results on April 8.

Statistics Estonia's Adult Education Survey* shows that people take part in training to perform their jobs better. However, people attend an educational institution when they wish to improve their knowledge. In 19% of cases, a higher degree has also led to a new job or a higher salary. According to preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2019, milk production increased by 3% and meat production by 5%, while egg production was smaller than ever. Compared to 2018, the number of dairy cows, sheep and poultry decreased, while the number of pigs increased.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2014, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,005 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 6.14 euros. Compared to 2013, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased by 5.9% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries by 7.2%.

Foreign trade statistics cover exports and imports of goods and services between Estonia and partner countries. While international trade in goods is based on their physical movement across borders, trade in services focuses on transactions between residents and non-residents, regardless of their location.
