According to Statistics Estonia, in 2008 exports of high-tech (HT) goods from Estonia totalled 4.6 billion kroons at current prices and imports of high-tech goods to Estonia amounted to 9.8 billion kroons. The share of HT goods in Estonia’s trade has significantly decreased during the last years.

According to Statistics Estonia, unemployed persons numbered 51,000 and the unemployment rate was 7.5% in the 3rd quarter of 2014. Employment increased slightly, but the overall changes in employment and unemployment were minor.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2010, 5,294 persons emigrated from Estonia and 2,810 persons immigrated into Estonia. Emigration increased and immigration decreased compared to the previous year.

According to Statistics Estonia, at the beginning of the academic year of 2010/2011, 69,113 students were enrolled in higher education in Estonia, 128 students more than in the previous year. 1,282 foreign students from 62 countries are studying in Estonian universities. The number of foreign students has increased by 388 students compared to 2005.

According to Statistics Estonia, in June, exports of goods increased by 26% and imports by 45% year on year. In the second quarter as a whole, exports grew by 41% and imports by 49% year on year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2013, the number of passengers served by Estonian transport enterprises and passenger turnover increased 8% and 2%, respectively. Freight volume increased 1% in tonnes, but fell 10% in tonne-kilometres.
