Monday, 28 February, marked the end of the second stage of the Population and Housing Census where data were collected from people living at the addresses included in the mandatory sample. The survey component of the census has ended, but data collection from registers continues until July, to ensure that all residents of Estonia are counted.

In 2022, there were 11,646 births and 17,315 deaths in Estonia. 49,414 persons immigrated to Estonia and 9,657 persons emigrated from Estonia, therefore, immigration exceeded emigration fivefold.

According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2021, Estonian accommodation establishments served 90,000 tourists, which is nearly one and a half times more than in May last year. The numbers of foreign and domestic tourists both increased.
