Data collected from registers in the 2021 census reveal that in ten years, Estonia’s population has grown, people live longer, and the number of working-age persons has fallen. Over the last decade, Estonia has seen a rise in the number of ethnic nationalities, countries of citizenship, mother tongues, and countries of birth, as well as an increase in the number of Estonians.

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2022, Estonian accommodation establishments served nearly 226,000 tourists, which is 35% more than in November 2021. There was a rise in the number of both foreign* and domestic tourists.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2022, Estonian accommodation establishments served nearly 270,000 tourists, which is 19% more than in October last year. The number of foreign tourists* rose, while the number of domestic tourists fell.

From 2025 onwards, Statistics Estonia will no longer update short-term labour market statistics. The publication of short-term labour market statistics was based on a commissioning contract and the contract expired in 2024. Interactive charts give an overview of the labour market in Estonia based on the data of the employment register. They show changes in the number of employment relationships: how many were started, suspended or terminated. There is also a time series of the changes in these indicators. What kind of survey is it? The Estonian Health Interview Survey assesses the health status of the Estonian population, the factors influencing it, and the use of health services. The 2025 survey consists of two parts: the core survey, which is part of the fourth wave of the European Union Health Interview Survey and part of the official statistical programme; 18 additional voluntary questions that specify Estonia's needs in shaping health policy. According to Statistics Estonia, by preliminary data, the estimated population number in Estonia was 1,286,540 on 1 January 2013. The decline in the population in 2012 was mainly influenced by the increase of emigration and the growth in the number of deaths.
