According to Statistics Estonia, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia grew 4.3% in 2019. In the 4th quarter of 2019, the GDP grew 3.9% compared to the same period of the previous year. The Estonian GDP was 28 billion euros at current prices.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2018, the share of internet users among 16–74-year-olds reached 89%, which is 1 percentage point more than a year ago. The share of internet users who ordered accommodation and transport services from private persons increased by 4 and 3 percentage points, respectively.

Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, noted that the biggest decline at 4% was registered in the turnover volume of stores selling manufactured goods. In grocery stores, the volume of turnover was down by 3%. “However, the turnover volume of enterprises engaged in the retail sale of automotive fuel increased by 2% last year,” added Pihlak. Retail trade volume turned to growth again in the last month of the year. “The turnover of retail trade enterprises was €1 billion in December 2024, and compared with the same month in 2023, turnover volume was up by 1%,” Pihlak pointed out

According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2022, the consumer price index rose by 1.5% compared to January 2022 and by 12.0% compared to February 2021. Goods were 10.7% and services 14.5% more expensive than in February last year.

According to Statistics Estonia*, 93.2% of households in Estonia have an internet connection at home. The number of households with an internet connection has increased by 13,000 compared with the previous year, when there were 533,300 such households. There are also more users of e-commerce.

Riin Kadarik, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the volume of manufacturing production increased for the third month in a row. “This has mainly resulted from increased output in the manufacture of wood and fabricated metal products, which are some of the largest activities in the manufacturing sector,” added Kadarik. Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, pointed out that the decline in the volume of retail trade turnover in November was most affected by grocery stores, as their turnover volume decreased by 4% year on year. “The turnover volume of stores selling manufactured goods, however, continued to grow in November, increasing by 2% compared with the same period last year,” Pihlak noted. Among stores selling manufactured goods, the biggest increase at 15% was registered in the turnover volume of other specialised stores selling predominantly computers and their accessories, books, sports
