The statistics in the section of sustainable development provide an overview on how Estonia is moving towards the goals of the global sustainable development agenda. According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2020, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 630 million euros. Compared to March of the previous year, turnover increased by 4% at constant prices.

Production of cereals increased year on year

The total area of utilised agricultural land did not change considerably in 2017. Production of field crops was higher than in the previous year, but a lot of production was not harvested. The number of pigs increased and the number of cattle also increased slightly. Less meat but more milk and eggs were produced than in the previous year.

According to Statistics Estonia, there were 19,200 agricultural holdings in Estonia on the basis of the preliminary results of the 2013 Farm Structure Survey. Compared to the 2010 Agricultural Census, their number has decreased by a few hundred.
