Today, 8th of July, the Government of the Republic approved the regulation, which allows Statistics Estonia during a two-year transition period to ask economic units the data already submitted to the Business Register in their annual reports.

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2018, the production of industrial enterprises increased by 6% compared to August 2017. Production increased in manufacturing and energy, but decreased in mining.

Jane Leppmets, foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that there was a marked decline in trade in goods in the first quarter of 2024, as exports were down by 16% and imports by 11%. “In the third quarter, imports were unchanged and there was a slight uptrend in exports. The positive trend was even more noticeable in the fourth quarter, with exports increasing by 6% and imports by 7%,” explained Leppmets. Jane Leppmets, foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that compared with October 2023, the growth in foreign trade in October 2024 was the highest this year. “Re-exports of goods increased by 5% in October, while exports of goods of Estonian origin grew by as much as 17%. The share of goods of Estonian origin in total exports was also up from October last year, accounting for 66% in October 2024. Wood and articles of wood as well as electrical equipment of Estonian origin were the most exported items. The exports of these goods also increased the most,” Leppmets pointed out. The

According to Statistics Estonia, by flash estimations, the gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 9.4% in Estonia in the 4th quarter of 2008 compared to the same quarter in the previous year.

Statistics Estonia presents today, on 29 July, the publication “Eesti statistika aastaraamat. 2011. Statistical Yearbook of Estonia“, which gives an overview of the life in Estonia last year in comparison with earlier years and other European Union countries.

Today, on 12 November, at the conference of the Estonian Statistical Society, the Director General of Statistics Estonia Mr Andres Oopkaup presented Ms Cliona Georgia Dalberg with the Albert Pullerits young statistician’s grant.
