In May, electrical equipment was the most exported commodity, while agricultural products and food preparations were the top commodities in imports
According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2025, Estonia’s exports of goods grew by 2% and imports by 6%. Exports of goods amounted to about 1.6 billion and imports to nearly 1.9 billion euros at current prices. The trade deficit was 281 million euros, which is 78 million euros more than in May last year.
The numbers of domestic and foreign tourists increased by 4% in May year on year
According to Statistics Estonia, accommodation establishments served 304,000 tourists in May 2025, which is 4% more than in May last year. The numbers of foreign and domestic tourists both increased by 4% year on year.
In June, the consumer price index rose by 0.9% compared with May
According to Statistics Estonia, in June, the consumer price index increased by 0.9% compared with May and by 5% compared with June 2024. Goods were 2.8% and services 8.4% more expensive than in June last year.
Volume of industrial production up by 0.9% in May
According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2025, the total production of industrial enterprises increased by 0.9% at constant prices compared with the corresponding month of 2024. Among the three main sectors, output increased by 1.4% in manufacturing and by 6.9% in energy production but decreased by 19.7% in mining.
HICP flash estimate: prices up by 1.1% in June
According to the preliminary estimate of Statistics Estonia, in June 2025, the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which includes the expenditures of tourists in Estonia, increased by 1.1% compared with May. Compared with June last year, the HICP rose by 5.2%.
Retail trade volume up by 2% in May
According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2025, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was €924 million. Compared with May last year, the volume of retail trade turnover increased by 2%.
