In May, exports of goods grew by 9% and imports by 4%
According to Statistics Estonia, in May, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 9% and imports by 4% compared with May last year. Exports of goods amounted to over 1.7 billion euros and imports to more than 1.9 billion euros at current prices. Exports of goods of Estonian origin grew by 5%.
Consumer price index up by 2.3% in June year on year
According to Statistics Estonia, in June, the consumer price index decreased by 0.5% compared with May and increased by 2.3% compared with June 2025. Goods were 1% and services 4.2% more expensive than in June last year.
Industrial production fell by 3% in May
According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2026, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 3% at constant prices compared with May last year. Among the three industrial sectors, output increased by 39.9% in mining but decreased by 22.9% in energy production and by 3.5% in manufacturing.
Volume of retail trade turnover down by 1% in May
According to Statistics Estonia, in May, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 947 million euros. The volume of retail trade turnover decreased by 1% compared with May 2025 and was unchanged compared with April this year.
Dwelling price index up by stat 3.4% in the first quarter (corrected on 19.06.2026)
According to Statistics Estonia, in the first quarter of 2026, the dwelling price index increased by 3.4% compared with the previous quarter and by 5.9% compared with the first quarter of 2025. Year on year, there was a rise in the number of purchases of dwellings outside Tallinn.
Sales of pesticides increased for the second year in a row
According to Statistics Estonia, 853.7 tonnes of pesticides by active substance were placed on the market in Estonia in 2025. This is a tenth more than the year before.
Foreign trade picked up in April
According to Statistics Estonia, in April, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 13% and imports by 12% compared with April last year. Exports of goods amounted to almost 1.8 billion and imports to nearly 2.2 billion euros at current prices.
Consumer price index up by 3.7% in May year on year
According to Statistics Estonia, in May, the consumer price index increased by 0.4% compared with April and by 3.7% compared with May 2025. Goods were 3.1% and services 4.6% more expensive than in May last year.
Manufacturing output down for the third month in a row
According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2026, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 3.8% at constant prices compared with April last year. Among the three industrial sectors, output increased by 14.3% in mining but decreased by 14.9% in energy production and by 3.2% in manufacturing.
Exports of services grew by 4% in the first quarter
According to Statistics Estonia and Eesti Pank, in the first quarter of 2026, Estonia’s exports of services grew by 4% and imports were unchanged year on year. Exports of services amounted to nearly 3.3 billion euros and imports to about 2.5 billion euros at current prices.
Average wages and salaries were 2,135 euros in the first quarter
According to Statistics Estonia, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 2,135 euros in the first quarter of 2026, which is 6.2% higher than in the same quarter last year.
The economy grew for the fourth quarter in a row: GDP up by 2.4% in Q1
According to Statistics Estonia, in the first quarter of 2026, the gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 2.4% compared with the same period of 2025. The GDP at current prices was 10.2 billion euros in the first quarter.
