Producer price indices increased in July

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2010 the producer price index of industrial output increased by 0.5% compared to June and by 3.9% compared to July of the previous year.

In July compared to the previous month, the producer price index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in the production of metal products. Compared to July 2009, prices increased the most in the production of wood and wood products and in the production of metal products.

In July 2010 the export price index increased by 0.7% compared to June 2010 and by 7.2% compared to July of the previous year.

In July compared to the previous month, the export price index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in the manufacture of metals, wearing apparel and in the extraction of peat as well as by the decrease in prices in the manufacture of building materials and furniture.

In July 2010 the import price index changed by 0.0% compared to June 2010 and increased by 8.8% compared to July of the previous year.

In July compared to the previous month, the import price index was more than average influenced by the decrease in the prices of agricultural products, leather and leather products and paper products and by the increase in the prices of textile products and wood and wood products.
