Electricity production increased last year

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2013 the production of electricity totalled 13 TWh which is nearly 11% more than previous year. The electricity production from renewable sources decreased more than 10% compared 2012.

Researchers and officials have a special interest to find out through the census how many people living in Estonia have two nationalities and speak two mother tongues. Although information on nationality and mother tongue is also available in the population register, it is the first time that it is possible to choose two options in the census questionnaire.

The crop farming survey provides data about areas under cultivation and harvested areas of agricultural crops, production and yield, fertilisers, organic farming, liming, seed use, and autumn sowings of winter crops. A large part of the data are obtained from registers (for example, data on areas under cultivation are received from the Agricultural Registers and Information Board, and data on harvested areas and production are obtained from the electronic field book in e-ARIB), and the rest are collected from respondents with the survey. In the first quarter, construction volume fell by 7%

According to Statistics Estonia, in the first quarter of 2021, the total production value of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and abroad decreased by 7% year on year. Considering only the Estonian construction market, the decrease in construction volume was 6%.

The volume of industrial production decreased by 2%

According to Statistics Estonia, in September, the production of industrial enterprises decreased by 2% compared to September 2019. In the three main industrial sectors, the fall in production was 2% in manufacturing, 5% in energy production and 8% in mining.

The turnover of retail trade enterprises grew by 4% last year

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, the total turnover of retail trade enterprises in 2020 was nearly 7.7 billion euros. Compared to 2019, turnover increased by 4% at constant prices.
