Personal surveys

Leaving out the population and housing census mandatory for all, personal surveys are mostly voluntary. For social surveys, we collect data from individuals if the data cannot be obtained from databases. According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2014 compared to April of the previous year, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 8% at constant prices. While in March retail sales increased 5% compared to the same month of the previous year, then in April the retail sales growth accelerated.

Updating data in the population register launches the first stage of the census

Every fifth person in Estonia lived in relative poverty in 2014

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2014, 21.6% of the Estonian population lived in relative poverty and 6.3% in absolute poverty. The overall percentage of people living in relative poverty decreased 0.5 percentage points compared to the previous year, the percentage of people living in absolute poverty decreased 1.7 percentage points.

Production decreased in most manufacturing activities

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2020, the production of industrial enterprises decreased by 5% compared to August 2019. Production decreased in manufacturing but increased in energy and mining.
