According to Statistics Estonia, in 2008 Estonian enterprises produced 1.5 times more wind power and by a third more hydro power compared to 2007. Since 2005, electricity production from renewable sources has gradually increased.

According to Statistics Estonia, over 2,000 persons have been enumerated in the pilot Census of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011). The population of Rae rural municipality have participated the most in electronic census that is going on until the mid-February.

Today, on 1 December, Statistics Estonia launched a publicity campaign to raise awareness among the Estonian population of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011), set to begin on 31 December. Yesterday, on 3 November the competition for enumerator’s post came to an end. As total, over 6,600 persons wish to become an enumerator in different regions of Estonia.

Statistics Estonia presents today, on 30 July, the publication “Eesti statistika aastaraamat. 2010. Statistical Yearbook of Estonia” which reflects in figures the life of Estonia in the first decade of the 21st century.
