According to Statistics Estonia, 271,100 domestic and foreign tourists stayed in the accommodation establishments of Estonia in October 2017, which is 1% more than in October 2016.
According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2013 the total profit of the business sector was 3.1 billion euros, which was 5% more than the year earlier. The increase in the enterprise sector’s total profit continued for the fourth year in a row.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2015, the total profit of the business sector was 650 million euros, which was 9% less than in the same period a year ago.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2014, the total profit of the business sector was 836 million euros, remaining the same compared to the 2nd quarter a year ago.
According to Statistics Estonia, 281,400 tourists used the services of accommodation establishments in September 2017, i.e. 10% more than in September 2016. The number of both foreign and domestic tourists increased.
Statistics Estonia prepared an analysis for Archimedes Foundation on the participation of international students in the Estonian labour market and its impact on the economy. It appeared that in the previous academic year, foreign students paid eight million euros in income and social tax in Estonia. International students who graduated the year prior contributed additionally over two million euros. The share of international students who work besides studying has increased significantly in the last three years. A half of them continue working in Estonia even after receiving a diploma.
According to Statistics Estonia, 435,000 domestic and foreign tourists stayed in Estonian accommodation establishments in August 2017, which is 4% more than in August 2016.
