Industrial production decreased in October
Compared to October 2018, the total production in manufacturing remained the same. The production volume in more than half of the branches was smaller than in the same period last year. Among the branches of industry with larger shares, production fell in the manufacture of electrical equipment and furniture. Manufacture of wood and fabricated metal products remained at last year’s level. Growth was observed in the manufacture of food products, computers and electronic products, and building materials.
66% of the total production of manufacturing was sold to the external market. According to unadjusted data, the sales of manufacturing production for exports as well as to the domestic market decreased by 5%. In October 2019, compared to September, the seasonally adjusted total industrial production rose by 1% and the production of manufacturing by 2%.
Compared to October 2018, the production of electricity decreased by 46% and the production of heat increased by 3%.
