In June, the change in the consumer price index was affected the most by food and transport
Compared to June 2018, goods turned 1.8% and services 3.5% more expensive. Regulated prices of goods and services have risen by 0.8% and non-regulated prices by 2.9% compared to June of the previous year.
Compared to June 2018, the consumer price index was affected the most by food and non-alcoholic beverages, which contributed nearly 30% of the total increase of the index. Three quarters of this increase was due to 26% more expensive vegetables. A more substantial effect on the index change was also exerted by 29.4% more expensive holiday trips and housing (solid fuels turned 14.6%, pipeline gas 11.3% and rents 7.3% more expensive).
Compared to June 2018, petrol was 1% cheaper and diesel fuel 0.5% more expensive. Of food products, the biggest year-on-year price increases were seen for potatoes (66%), fresh vegetables (32%) and rice (12%), and the biggest price decreases for fresh fish (12%).
Compared to May, in June, the consumer price index was affected the most by transport – petrol turned 3.2% and diesel fuel 2.6% cheaper. A major impact on the index change was also exerted by price increases of holiday trips (by 13.9%), accommodation services (by 12.5%) and fresh vegetables (by 6.5%).
