In 2018, the volume of industrial production increased
In 2018, the total production in manufacturing was 4% higher than in 2017. Production surpassed the volume of the previous year in half of the branches of industry. The growth in production was mostly due to an increase in the manufacture of computers and electronic products, manufacture of wood and food products. Among the branches of industry with larger shares, production fell in the manufacture of electrical equipment, textiles and furniture.
67% of the total production of manufacturing was sold to the external market in 2018. Export increased by 5% and sales to the domestic market increased by 8% compared to 2017.
In December 2018, the working-day adjusted industrial production increased by 6% compared to December 2017; the production of manufacturing rose by 5%. In December, the production of electricity decreased by 13% compared to the corresponding month in 2017.
In December 2018 compared to November, the seasonally adjusted total industrial production remained the same.
