Statistics Estonia invites students to participate in the competition for the young statistician’s grant
All Master’s or Bachelor’s theses on population, social life, economy or the environment that implement or develop a statistical method and have been completed and submitted for defence in 2017 can be presented for the grant competition.
The aim of the grant is to promote statistics as an important branch of science and encourage students to apply and develop statistical methods.
The submission deadline is 26 May 2017. The papers should be sent to Statistics Estonia’s e‑mail address statistika [at] stat.ee (statistika[at]stat[dot]ee) with the subject line “Albert Pulleritsu preemia”. The winner will be announced on Statistics Estonia’s website at the latest during the 25th week of 2017. The winner will be awarded an iPad.
More information about the competition conditions can be found on Statistics Estonia’s website.
The competition for the Albert Pullerits grant takes place for the seventh time. The grant was awarded for the first time in 2011 to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Estonian statistics. Albert Pullerits was the first director of the Estonian State Central Bureau of Statistics established in 1921 and the founder of the official statistical system in Estonia.
