In April, the annual change of the consumer price index was influenced the most by motor fuel
Compared to April 2014, goods were 0.4% cheaper and services 0.6% more expensive.
Regulated prices of goods and services have fallen by 0.1% and non-regulated prices also by 0.1 % compared to April of the previous year.
Compared to April 2014, the consumer price index was influenced the most by 10.8% cheaper motor fuel. Alcoholic beverages also had a bigger impact on the index, as their prices increased by 6.7% compared to April of the previous year. The 4.7% price decrease of milk and milk products and the 14.7% price increase of fresh vegetables cancelled out each other’s impact on the index. Compared to April of the previous year, of food products, the prices of coffee (26.6%) and dried fruit and nuts (25.8%) have increased the most, and the prices of sugar (28%) and potatoes (20%) have decreased the most.
In April compared to March, the consumer price index was influenced the most by the 19.5% price increase of fresh vegetables, which accounted for more than a half of the total increase. 14% cheaper plane tickets, 4.1% more expensive fruit, 8.6% more expensive accommodation services and 1% more expensive alcoholic beverages also had a bigger impact on the index. Compared to March, of food products, the prices of Chinese cabbage (89%) increased the most and prices of kiwis (10%) decreased the most.
