The producer price index increased in August

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2012 the producer price index of industrial output changed by 0.6 % compared to July 2012 and by 2.2% compared to August of the previous year.

In August, compared to the previous month, the producer price index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in the manufacture of refined petroleum products, in the manufacture of wood and wood products and in the production of heat energy, as well as by the decrease in prices in the manufacture of textile products.

Compared to August 2011, the index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in the manufacture of food products and by the decrease in prices of electronic products.

In August 2012 the export price index changed by 1.4% compared to July 2012 and by 1.2% compared to August 2011.

In August, compared to the previous month, the prices of electricity, petroleum products and food products increased more than average, and the prices of metals decreased more than average.

In August 2012 the import price index changed by 1.6% compared to July 2012 and by 3.0% compared to August 2011.

In August, compared to the previous month, the prices of petroleum products, electricity and agricultural products increased more than average.
