Producer price indices increased in April

According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2012 the producer price index of industrial output changed by 0.2% compared to March and by 2.6% compared to April of the previous year.

In April compared to the previous month, the producer price index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in the production of electronic products, wood and wood products and chemicals and chemical products, as well as by the decrease in prices in the production of refined petroleum products.

Compared to April 2011, the index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in the manufacture of food products and heat energy.

In April 2012 the export price index changed by -0.6% compared to March 2012 and by 2.2% compared to April 2011.

In April compared to the previous month, the prices of metals, wood and petroleum products decreased more than average, and the prices of some machinery and equipment and furniture increased more than average.

In April 2012 the import price index changed by 0.6% compared to March 2012 and by 5.5% compared to April 2011.

In April compared to the previous month, the prices of chemical products, mineral fuels and wood products increased more than average and the prices of agricultural and textile products decreased more than average.
