Competition to find enumerators extended in three counties
"Although the competition was successful and more than 6,900 people have applied for an enumerator job, we have now extended the competition period until 28 November in certain areas of three counties," said Ms Palmi Lindjärv, Human Resources Manager of the 2011 Population and Housing Census.
"People can only apply for an enumerator position in these areas; the competition has not been extended in any other areas", added Lindjärv.
Areas where the competition for enumerators has been extended:
- In Tallinn and Harju county: Haabersti, Mustamäe, Nõmme, Old Town, Northern Tallinn, Maarjamäe and Lasnamäe areas; Kõue rural municipality, Valkla, Pärispea, Viimsi, Maardu, Liivamäe, Peetri village, Anija rural municipality (Paasiku and Kuusemäe), Harku rural municipality (Vääna-Jõesuu, Viti, Vaila and Liikva villages, Tiskre and Tabasalu small town), Kiili rural municipality, Laagri small town, Saue city and rural municipality, Kernu rural municipality, Saku small town and rural municipality (Jälgimäe and Tänassilma villages), Kiisa small town and Turba.
- In Ida-Viru county: Aseri, Alajõe, Iisaku, Kohtla, Kohtla-Nõmme, Tudulinnas, Illuka and Vaivara rural municipalities.
- In Tartu county (excluding the city of Tartu): Tartu rural municipality, Laeva, Puhja, Tähtvere, Rannu, Konguta, Luunja, Vara, Alatskivi and Peipsiääre rural municipalities.
People can apply for an enumerator’s post in these areas until 28 November, by sending an application and CV together with the area’s name at personal [at] REL2011.ee (personal[at]REL2011[dot]ee) or by applying through CV Keskus, CV-Online or Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund
All the candidates who have already applied or are going to apply in the areas where the competition has been extended, will be notified of the results of the competition by 6 January the latest.
In Estonia, the Population and Housing Census will be carried out from 31 December this year until 31 March next year. During the first month (31.12.2011 – 31.01.2012) the electronic Population Census or e-Census will take place, where the permanent residents of Estonia can fill out questionnaires on the Internet. Those who do not participate in the e-Census will be visited by enumerators in the period from 16 February until 31 March 2012.
