Producer price indices increased in May

According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2011 the producer price index of industrial output changed by 0.5% compared to April and by 4.8% compared to May of the previous year.

In May compared to the previous month, the producer price index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in the production of metal products and chemicals and chemical products.

Compared to May 2010, the biggest increase in prices was in the production of refined petroleum products and metal products.

In May 2011 the export price index increased by 1.1% compared to April 2011 and by 10.1% compared to May of the previous year.

In May compared to the previous month, the biggest increase was in the prices of footwear, plastic and rubber products, peat products and chemical products.

In May 2011 the import price index increased by 1.6% compared to April 2011 and by 11.7% compared to May of the previous year.

In May compared to the previous month, the biggest increase was in the prices of mineral fuels, chemical products, food products and wearing apparel.
