Producer price indices increased in February

According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2011 the producer price index of industrial output increased by 0.1 % compared to January and by 5.0% compared to February of the previous year.

In February compared to the previous month, the producer price index was more than average influenced by the increase in the prices of the production of chemical products and metal products and by the decrease in the prices of food products. Compared to February 2010, prices increased the most in the production of metal products.

In February 2011 the export price index increased by 3.4% compared to January 2011 and by 9.3% compared to February of the previous year.

In February compared to the previous month, the export price index was more than average influenced by the increase in the prices of mineral fuels, chemical products and of food products.

In February 2011 the import price index increased by 1.2% compared to January 2011 and by 13.7% compared to February of the previous year.

In February compared to the previous month, the import price index was more than average influenced by the increase in the prices of mineral fuels, rubber and plastic products and food products, as well as by the decrease in prices of textile products.
