Producer price index increased in February

According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2010 the producer price index increased 0.5% compared to January and 0.1% compared to February of the previous year.

In February compared to the previous month the producer price index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in the manufacture of metal products and by the decrease in prices in the manufacture of chemical products. Compared to February 2009 the prices increased most in the manufacture of wood and wood products.

In February 2010 the export price index decreased 0.2% compared to January and 0.5% compared to February 2009.

In February compared to the previous month, the export price index was more than average influenced by the decrease in prices in the manufacture of building materials, textiles and rubber and plastic products and by the increase in prices in the manufacture metals and metal products.

In February 2010 the import price index increased 0.7% compared to January and 5.8% compared to February 2009.
