Gender pay gap refers to the difference in average gross hourly wages and salaries of male and female employees by economic activity. It is calculated as gross hourly wages and salaries of male employees, less gross hourly wages and salaries of female employees, divided by gross hourly wages and salaries of male employees. All economically active enterprises, institutions and organisations with at least one employee are taken into account.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the second quarter of 2022, there were 13,334 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. This is 26% more than in the same quarter of 2021. Approximately 5,000 people left their jobs at the initiative of the employer.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the first quarter of 2022, there were 13,076 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. This is 38% more than in the same quarter of 2021. More than 4,000 persons left their jobs on the employer’s initiative.

In the 3rd quarter, the number of job vacancies remained around 11,400

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2018, there were approximately 11,400 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2018, the number of job vacancies remained at the same level. However, compared to the 3rd quarter of 2017, the number of job vacancies decreased by 10%. The number of job vacancies has exceeded 10,000 since the 1st quarter of 2017.
