Travelling is a great way to see life in neighbouring countries or in faraway places. Hundreds of millions of people travel every day – for work, vacation or to broaden one’s horizons. According to Statistics Estonia, in 2018, the average monthly gross wages and salaries of enterprises, institutions and organisations were 1,310 euros, having increased by 7.3% compared to 2017. The average monthly gross wages and salaries increased in all economic activities, being the highest in the 2nd and 4th quarters.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2018, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,321 euros, having increased by 6.4% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2017. The year-on-year growth in average monthly gross wages and salaries was 1.3 percentage points slower than in the previous quarter.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the academic year 2020/2021, international students and graduates in Estonia paid more than ever before in labour taxes: a total of 16 million euros. At the same time, the number of international students was smaller, while the number of international graduates continued to rise. International students and graduates were most likely to work in information and communication as well as in education. Compared to local students, they worked more often in start-up enterprises.
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2020, the gross hourly earnings of female employees were 15.6% smaller than the earnings of male employees. The gender pay gap decreased by 1.5 percentage points year on year.
