According to Statistics Estonia, 29 full-length films were produced in Estonia in 2022. This is four more than in 2021. The number of corporate films has also increased, with a total of 1,773 made last year.

Sigrid Saagpakk, analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that, compared with 2021, the number of domestic films shown in Estonian cinemas has risen as well. “12 feature films and 13 documentaries were produced in 2022 and screened in Estonian cinemas in the same year,” Saagpakk noted.

The analyst explained that a total of 45 short feature films were produced by Estonian enterprises. “This figure is unchanged from last year. The biggest drop has been in the number of short animations, with two produced in 2022, compared with 12 a year earlier,” added Saagpakk.
