Today, on 1 August, Statistics Estonia launches the Foreign Visitors Survey at the border crossing points of Estonia. The survey will be held until the middle of September and aims to determine the expenditures incurred by foreign visitors in Estonia, their travel motivation and behaviour, and satisfaction.
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2008 compared to 2007, the production of industrial enterprises decreased 6.5%. The moderate growth of the industrial production at the beginning of 2008, compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, turned to decline since March.
According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2016, the production of industrial enterprises increased 5% compared to October of the previous year. Production increased in manufacturing and the energy sector, but decreased in mining and quarrying.
According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2017, domestic and foreign tourists who stayed in Estonian accommodation establishments numbered 192,000, which was 8% more than in January 2016.
According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2015 compared to April of the previous year, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 6% at constant prices. While in March retail sales increased 8% compared to the same month of the previous year, then in April the growth in retail sales decelerated slightly.
According to Statistics Estonia, the unemployment rate was 6.5% and the employment rate was 64.1% in the 1st quarter of 2016. There were no major changes compared to the 1st quarter of the previous year.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2013 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and foreign countries grew 0.4%. In Estonia the construction activities increased 4%, but in foreign countries the construction volumes decreased nearly by a third.
Statistics Estonia revised the population figures for 2000–2013 based on the data of the 2011 census and various registers. According to the revised data, the estimated population number of Estonia as at 1 January 2014 was 1,311,870 by preliminary estimates.
According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2015 compared to November 2014, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 6% at constant prices. In October, the retail sales increased 8% compared to the same month of the previous year, whereas in November the retail sales growth decelerated to some extent.
